I have a 4 year old son who was conceived the first month trying when I was 31 years old. When he was 2 1/2 we started trying for a second and I've had 4 chemical pregnancies in the last 18 months, all around the 5 week mark. I have had very little testing done, but with my 3rd chemical my progesterone was at a 30, so I don't feel like that is my issue. I have very regular periods and ovulate on my own. I'm just confused as to how I can easily have one child, but can't seem to stay pregnant now. I am seeing a new OB in January to discuss my situation since we cannot afford a fertility specialist and insurance does not cover it. I'm wondering what would be the most important tests for my OB to run and if you have any thoughts/opinions as to what my issue could be. Thanks!

there are clearly immune issues that can cause this type of problem , most common after a first born male. I am not sure you OB can handle this type of complicated issue, but to be simple he can at least do a Karyotyping to be sure there are no genetic issues.
He can email me and I would be happy to try and arrange a consultation with him to do more extensive testing for you.
You can also feel free to call for a consult as well.

Thank you! I had never heard that immune issues were more common after a first born male. Do immune issues take extensive testing and treatment to fix? Also, I have fairly light periods, could a lining issue be a possibility? Also, what type of tests could I have done to show it's an immune issue?

The correct workup looks at ALL issues related to loss not just immune, yes lining has to be considered as one of them , but thee is no way to do this correclty and partially if it is going to be done well. I would recommend calling my ofice and scheduling a consultation with me. The inital 10 minute consult is free. They will go over all other fees with you.
