4 losses, +ANA, MTHFR

Hello Dr. Braverman,

My name is Laura and I am 33 years old.

I have had 4- 1st trimester losses over the last 13 months. My RPL testing showed positive ANA (1:320 speckled), mild hypothyroidism and homozygous MTHFR (A1298C). My husband's testing showed normal.

I had a saline ultrasound and hysteroscopy which both showed normal.

My RE doesn't think the +ANA is a problem but after further reading I think it may. My RE denied trying prednisone but did prescribe heparin post ovulation.

My last pregnancy was in February of this year, and I have been unable to get pregnant since then which leads me to believe my body may be attacking my embryos.

Any thoughts?

I beleive you are correct , with hx of postive ANA and early losses it is most likely an immune issue. Heparin is a good start but you most likely will need additional therapy.
