I am going to be making an appointment to consult with you personally. I constantly try to search online for possible reasons for my 4 miscarriages, 3 of which had detectable heartbeats and lost about 6 weeks GA. I have had, as most of your patients, I am sure, tests and more tests but everything turns out to be negative except I do have Factor 5 Leiden. I saw 2 different high risk doctors and recently a specialist in reproductive medicine but immunology panel testing was not suggested. IVF was recommended, however, I am convinced I don't need this and believe the problem is more immunologic in nature. I don't have any difficulty getting pregnant, just maintaining the pregancy. I am very interested in the natural medicine (fish oil, antioxidants etc) and would be open to exploring more aggressive treatments only as a last resort. In your experience are there more conservative treatments that can be tried alone without more aggressive treatments (intralipids, prednisone, etc)? I am reluctant to start IVF since I believe my problem has more to do with my immune system rejecting the pregnancy- that of which may not be corrected by IVF. Thank you.

I am very sorry for your losses. In fact many times IVF is not needed when the only problems are immune related. we can recommend a treatment protocol without IVF if you are clearly shown to be immune, which based on your history seems likely. Please call my office for a consultation and i would be happy to help you.

Thank you. Would you be able to cite a good study article that I could find regarding treatment for recurrent pregnancy loss immune related? I would like very much to read evidence based research. Thanks again.

There are so many areas that can affect immune related pregnancy loss, after the consultation when we see what the problems are I can certainly guide you on your literature search .
