Hello Dr. Braverman, thank you for being here! I am currently waiting on a sixth loss. I had a 5w loss, a missed miscarriage discovered at 9w, a 16w loss that was confirmed chromosomal, a chemical, another missed miscarriage discovered at 8w and now was found measuring two weeks behind at 6w5d...sac is 4w4d baby is 5w4d with a slight heartbeat. My RE suggested that my husband and I may be too genetically similar to have a baby together and that we may want to look at donor egg or sperm. I am 38, all testing has been normal other than MTHFR homo c677t, which my RE is treating with folic acid. He has refused Lovenox, although after this loss I think I have him convinced to try if I can bring myself to TTC again. all O'd my conceptions have been natural except this last one, I did follistim with IUI to get pregnant faster. Would you recommend I try again on our own if they will prescribe Lovenox or should we look into donor eggs? I have no problem with the donor route, but am not convinced that there isn't some underlying issue causing the missed miscarriages. Please help!

you need a full immune profile as well as a complete HLA screen(look on the website for info). This can most of the times be treated. Please call my office and schedule a telephone consultation. I would be happy to guide your carer.

Thanks for your reply. What are the chances that we are really too genetically similar? I was really pressing my RE for answers last week and he kind of threw that out there as a possibility, I felt like he said it just to tell me SOMETHING, but that he really doesn't know.

almost impossible , what you do need to look at only is the similarity on chromosome number 6 that houses the HLA genes this is a possibility that can be easily treated. Please call me.
