I suppose any message written at 10:30pm is probably out of desperation but here goes:

I'm 31 yrs old, have a 2 yr old son and am pregnant for the 3rd time in 6 mths. The 1st m/c was unexpected at 5 wks. The 2nd time I was on 200 mg progesterone 2x/day and getting betas regularly. The betas never looked good (some doubled, others didn't) and never got past 450. I stopped the progesterone at about 5 1/2 wks when betas declined and miscarried the next day.

I saw an RI who I'm not very impressed with. Tested APAs, NKs, and embryo toxicity. The only thing abnormal was antiethanolamine, IgG: 19.28, IgM: 15.66. So I'm on baby aspirin, 40 mg Lovenox & the progesterone. My betas were starting off good but from 6pm Wed to 9am today they went from 360 to only 489.

I called the RI as soon as I got results but she'd already left for the day & the nurse said there was nothing I could do, just "hope they get better." I don't plan on continuing there. I know sometimes it works out okay but this is the same point as the last 2 times, I don't think it's going to get better. I'd call your office and ask for a consult but of course it's the weekend. My next beta is Monday and I'm guessing it'll be over by then. So I guess I'm writing to see if there's anything I could do to have a chance this time. I know some people are on prednisone, or taking higher Lovenox doses, or other meds. I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to give this a chance. I really want this baby.

I am so sorry for your losses and yes I did have to cave in to being available 24/7. I am sorry that at this point there is very little that can be done for THIS pregnancy. Once the numbers begin to platue the damage has already been done. I wish we could intercede at this point but nothing can reverse the problem. I emphasize THIS pregnancy because I am sure I can help you find out why this is happening and offer you more specific treatments. It seems what you have been tested for is quite generic and so such are the treatments. Please call me because testing that I can accomplish now will greatly help me diagnose the problem. Please dont despair, the majority of patients who present to me with your similar history take home a baby.
