Hi, Dr. Braverman.
It was great to meet you today! I have one follow up question about my history of chronic endometritis. As you know, it was diagnosed by bx after 2 chemical pregnancies, unsuccessfully treated with doxy, and then it was cleared (according to repeat bx) after a course of levoquin. Is there any treatment other than antibiotics? I'm currently on cipro. Anything else I should do/try/check? Thank you for all of your help!!

It was a pleasure meeting you as well. Although there is some literature on Uterine flushing with antibiotics and even prolonged IV antibiotics , nothing has been shown to work better than oral admistration of antibiotics and clearly Levoquin being quite potent. As the infection does activate the TLR receptors on the placenta and leads to a strong inflammatory response, the treatment aimed at preventing this response is also successful, and those are part of the immune treatments we use here as well.

Hi Dr Braverman,
I've been following RI blogs for a year now and haven't heard a success story with endometriosis that I know of. What is your experience in treating this disorder? Antibiotics mentioned above is new to me, I know Dr Beer used Humira. I don't know if I have it, but I have the classic symptoms and have been unsuccessful with immunology treatments so far. What kind of success rate can be expected with Endo patients?

We have many success stories with endometriosis. It is in fact an auto immune syndrome and our treatments are geared toward that aspect and the affect on egg quality that the elevated levels of TNF in the abdominal cavity fluid cause. many of our patietns with endometriosis have posted their success in our discussion board. Feel free to give me a call if you want to learn our approach to endometriosis.
