Dear Dr Braverman,

I was recently diagnosed with a partial DQ Alpha match and elevated NK cells. I have been reading through your message board and came across several posts were you mention that a partial DQ Alpha match is of no significance.

We had the complete HLA panel done and it looks like the partial DQ Alpha match is the only problem.
DQ Beta: me 02,06; DH 05,05
HLA-A: me 01,02; DH 03,32
HLA-B: me 07,44; DH 14,14
HLA-C: me 07,16; DH 08,05/08
HLA-DRB1: me 07,15,DRB5 Present; DH 01,16,DRB5 Present
DQ Alpha: me 1.2,2.0; DH 1.1,1.2

My question is do you believe that my NK cells are anything to be concerned about. My NK results are:
NK Cell Assay with IVIg
T:E 1:50 Native State - 11.8
T:E 1:25 Native State - 10.6
T:E 1:12.5 Native State - 10.5
T:E 1:50 with IL-2 stim - 11.6
T:E 1:25 with IL-2 stim - 10.4
T:E 1:12.5 with IL-2 stim - 9.6
T:E 1:50 with IVIg 12.5 - 12.6
T:E 1:25 with IVIg 12.5 - 9.7
T:E 1:12.5 with IVIg 12.5 - 7.8
T:E 1:50 with IVIg 6.5 - 13.2
T:E 1:25 with IVIg 6.5 - 13.0
T:E 1:12.5 with IVIg 6.5 - 12.9
NK Cell Assay w/ Intralipid
T:E 1:50 Native State - 12.4
T:E 1:25 Native State - 9.9
T:E 1:12.5 Native State - 9.8
T:E 1:50 with IL-2 stim - 10.8
T:E 1:25 with IL-2 stim - 9.5
T:E 1:12.5 with IL-2 stim - 9.3
T:E 1:50 Intralipid 1:2000 - 16.4
T:E 1:25 Intralipid 1:2000 - 15.0
T:E 1:12.5 Intralipid 1:2000 - 14.6
These were performed at RIA.

In your opinion, would you treat with IL and Prednisone?

I have also had the following tests done:
Total T (CD3+): 84.0
CD19+: Low at 5.0
CD8+: 36.0
CD4+: 53.0
Activated T (CD3+):9.0
CD16+/CD56+: 12.0
CD5+: 6.0
Anti-TPO: Negative
THAB: Negative
ANA: Normal
Expanded Panel APA : Normal

Our history includes 3 chemical pregnancies, lost twin boys at 20 weeks due to pPROM, miscarriage at 9w and lastly a blighted ovum. For the last two miscarriages, D&C testing came back with maternal cell contamination.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, I really appreciate it.

I dont see anything in your lab results that requires treatment. I would be happy to consult with you to try and figure this out.
