Hi How are you. I did receive a call from Linda and she was very helpful. She did tell me not to worry , and that my cytokine level was 37, and that you like to see it at 30 the highest. I was on 10 mg of Prednisone while taking the blood panel. I will take an extra 10 mg. Should I take one in the am and one in the pm? Have you seen patients have a successful pregnancy with a level that high? I am 6 weeks and a day and I will be starting the extra pill tonight. I hope its not too late. Thanks for everything and for seeing me so quickly.

yes the high cytokines alone(these are not very high) do well with the low dose prednisone, and yes you caught it in plenty of time. As there is no evidence of cellular activation at this time I dont expect any problems. Good Luck it was my pleasure .

Hello Dr. Braverman How are you. I have a question... I am 11 weeks today, (knock on wood) and I have been taking the 20mg of prednisone as you prescribed. How many weeks would you suggest I take the prednisone for? I am also on the prometrium pill. when do you recommend stopping this? Thank you for all your help

as your cytokines were not very elevated would suggest you begin to taper them now. Of course this is my recommendation you have to follow the advice of your current doctor.

Thank you I value your opinion tremendously. Would you recommend tapering off after two months of being on 10 mg in the am and 10mg in the pm, by starting with 5mg in the am and 5 in the pm, or is that too abrupt? Thank you. I am going to compose my success story with you and how much you are always there for your patients and how knowledgeable you are as you dedicate so much to miscarriages, and to helping women and families achieve their dreams.

yes that would be my approach, then after one week stay on 5 per day for a week then you can stop them.
