Dear Dr Braverman,

Do you believe DHEA help to improve egg quality? If so,at what circumstances you would prescribe DHEA to your patients. If a test result indicate a patient (aged over 40 with low AMH) has a normal DHEA limit, would you still percribe DHEA to improve egg quality?

Thank you & best regards,

Nicole

DHEA does not improve egg quality , it only increases the number of eggs you get during a cycle.

Dear Dr Braverman,

I am blessed to have the answer In order to improve egg quality (ttc naturally, 40+) what kind of supplements would you normally recommend to your patient. I am told Omega 3, Prenatal Vitamin, Vit-D and Royal jelly.

My warm regards,

yes I like both of them. melatonin levels are higher in the follicular fluid that produce better quality eggs.

Not sure where you read that, send me the reference and Ill look it over for you. There will always be some article for or against any treatment, I cant thnk of a reason why this would be a problem. I would simply take the daly dose recommended on the supplement that you pruchase for the chlorella.

Dear Dr Braverman,

Thanks so much for your answers and for taking out time to offer us all a lifeline.

I appreciate that this is an old thread but the conversation on green supplements is of interest to me as I have high TNF (42) and have been taking spirulina for more than a year. I would appreciate your opinion on spirulina based on the attached references.

One of the relevant articles (below), “the researchers found that spirulina increased the tumour-killing ability of NK cells and the interferon significantly. This activity was increased 1–2 weeks after administration of spirulina and the activity continued for 12–24 weeks even after spirulina supplementation had been stopped. “

Another said that immunostimulatory herbal supplements such as spirulina “may exacerbate pre-existing autoimmune disease or precipitate autoimmune disease in persons genetically predisposed to such disorders. Increased production of TNF-alpha may play a role, although more research is needed to clarify the mechanisms of such phenomena.”

Thank you very much for your assistance.
