hello,
For my IVIg infusions, my immunologist premedicates me with Zyrtec and Zantac for 3 days prior, day of, and 3 days post infusion. After reviewing your article on the need for MAST cells in the early stages of implantation and the trouble with antihistamine protocols, I am very worried that taking these meds while getting IVIg will affect early implantation after I do an FET. I tried to bring up my concern to my immunologist and my RE but they do not seem concerned and tell me not to worry. Would you let your patients, if they do not normally take antihistamines, take these with IVIg infusions while cycling? I used to give my patients IVIg so I know I could always take benedryl and tylenol for premeds instead of these. thank you in advance and awaiting your answer.

I do not have any data to support or contradict the use of antihisatmines for this duration around the time of transfer. Yes you are correct I would not prescribe them for this duration for the reasons I stated on my website. Benadryl at the time of IVIG is all I have ever needed .
