Hi Dr. Braverman!

I wanted to ask, under what circumstances do you recommended someone getting tested for DQ alpha matching?

I am a 27 yo female who has been trying to conceive for over a year. I have never been pregnant. I have some "flags" for autoimmune involvement and have mild endometriosis. I am looking to get the NK cell assay done but wanted to know more about the DQ alpha matching and why/when it is ordered. I know you have been successful treating this issue using Neupogen. Looking forward to your reply!

Best regards,
Orysia

I order all the immune testing together once i suspect any immune involvement, I dont order them separately. Please understand that DQalpha matching is not significant at all unless there are at "least" a total of 5 HLA matches. Im not sure what is included in the NK cell assay you are going to have done as I have seen many insufficient screens performed. I do agree that endometriosis is a marker for immune and yes we have had success treating several immune issues with neupogen.
The workup for failure to concieve needs to be in depth and detailed but not piece mealed. I would be happy to help you if you wish.
