After multiple failed cycles both with my own eggs and donor eggs my last two cycles have resulted in a chemical pregnancy and most recently an ectopic. In this last cycle, my hcg continued to rise at an approrpiate level until at 6 weeks nothing was seen in the uterus and the ectopic was found in my left fallopian tube. I had surgery to remove the ectopic and the entire left fallopian tube had to be removed.

I have an appointment scheduled with you in a couple of weeks.

Do ectopics also indicate a potential immune issue?
I had the hcg intrauterine injection immediately prior to the transfer, would that contribute to the ectopic?
Should these last two cycles be seen as progress since I have had complete negatives for years and now the chemical and ectopic?

Looking forward ot discussing with you at my consult.

Thank you and have a great weekend.

yes an ectopic sometimes signifies an immune issue as the normal immune defenses are not present in the fallopian tube so pregnancies will advance further than when in the uterine cavity. No I dont beleive an HCG injection is the cause of the ectopic. Ill speak with you soon.
