Hi Dr. Braverman,
I am getting ready to begin my first IVF with unexplained infertility. I am so nervous because I have not found anything wrong, and had lots of immune testing. I am afraid the eggs may just not be fertilizing. I have been reading about ICSI. Can a woman opt to have that done with her IVF? I really want this to work so I want to be able to do everything I can to increase my chances. THanks for your help!

Thank you for your response? I am concerned that there is a problem with the eggs being that no other problems have been found. I do not want to waste a cycle. Is ICSI more effective for fertiliZation? I have read that it is usually used if there is a low sperm count. But will clinics do this even of there is not an issue with counts? Thanks!
