Fish oil question

Hi Dr B,

I am currently pregnant (15+ weeks) and receiving clexane, low dose aspirin, prednisone and progesterone pessaries. This is because I have previously had 3 early first trimester mc and for elevated NK cells.

I was wondering whether it would be safe to take fish oil capsules (about 1000mg) with the above protocol, without increasing any bleeding risk. I am tapering my prednisone, and wanted to replace this with a "natural" antiinflammatory. My diet is also low in fish.

Thank you,

Kind regards

Faith.

I have no problem adding the 1,000mg per day of omega 3 as we have no evidence this would incrase your bleeding risk. I dont know your entire case so of course this decision must be made by your doctor. When concerned I generally get an INR level once on fish oil.
