From Dexamethasone to Prednisolone

Dear Dr. Braverman,
which could argues against changing Dexamethasone to Prednisolone at aerly pregnancy (f. e. taking Dexamethasone up to 8 week of pregnancy and then Switch to Prednisone/Prednisolone for taking this until 13 week of pregnancy)?

I prefer to not have my pateints on Dex at all as it does cross the placenta in much greater amounts than prednisone.

Is changing Dexamethasone to Prednisolon at 8 week of pregnancy possibile? Or which Argues against it?

It is possible and advisable to do so , if it is determined by your doctor that you need a steroid.

Could you explain me why higher dosis of Pred or Dex are given twice daily instead once in the morning?

some patients find it easier to tolerate with a split dose, I dont see much difference in effect either way.
