Dear Dr. Braverman

I live in Switzerland and am 41 years old. I have had 8 Icsis (5 fresh & 3 Kryos) so far in the past 4 years. Out of these 8 trials, I had 2 missed abortion (blighted ovums) detected in week 7. The last 3 trials we did in Austria with Blastos for the embryo transfer.
Since I had no support from my IVF clinic regarding Immunology, I started to do some tests on my own at lab. Klein&Rost near Munich with the following results:

- 3 activating KIR genes are missing
- natural killercells slightly elevated
- TH1:TH2 ratio shifted in favour of TH1

Dr. Hirv from the lab who works closely with Dr. Würfel recommended that I take Granocyte 13.4 Mio. s.c. on Embryotransfer and then every third day until 12. weeks in case of testing positive. I went to my clinic hoping they would prescribe it, but they only want to prescribe it until the pregnancy test. Dr. Hirv can not prescribe it to me, as he is "only" working in the research lab.

What is your opinion on continuing Granocyte after a positive pregnancy test? My next Embryotransfer is on 4 October 13 in a Kryocycle and I am getting very anxious that I will find no Doctor who will continuosly prescribe it to me in case I get pregnant.

I feel so helpless and alone on my "Immunology path".

thank you so much for your answer.
kind regards
Denise

you dont have enough information to make a diagnosis, so the use of granulocyte is not clear. However if you were to use it , it should be continued until at least 10 weeks and treatment modified based in follow up and correct immune testing. I work very closely with SERUM clinic in Athens and I know they would be happy to order any therapy that I recommended.
