Hi Dr Braverman,
My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for more than 3.5 years with 4 chemical pregnancies and 1 miscarriage at 8 weeks. We have done tons of tests and the only thing that has come up was my NK assay was slightly elevated in their native state and with IL-2. We did 3 IUIs without success and recently started IVF using gonal-f and galirex (and w/ intralipids and dexamethasone). At my first retrival we had 21 retrieved, one thrown out, 17 fertilize, 14 of varying quality at day 3, and nothing at day 5. We did some medicine adjustments and at 2nd retrieval had 16 retrieved, 2 thrown out, 9 fertilized, transferred 2 at day 3 (811 & 821) and had 1 of the remaining 7 make it to blastocyte (B4 type C). Beta was negative.

After the IVF trys my Dr said she thinks I have PCOS-but I don't have any symptoms besides lots of eggs. She said losing embryos between day 3 and 5 is normally a sperm problem, but all my husbands sperm tests have been good, DFI and HDS good. The only other things that I know of that might be relevant is I am Anti-CCP positive (DBR4 present too) and have Raynauds. I have some symptoms for RA, but have not been diagnosed for it.

Does this look like an egg quality problem? And if so can that be caused by NK cells, Raynauds, or RA? If it doesn't look like an egg quality problem-any suggestions about what to consider? We're not sure what our next step should be.

I think this is several issue. YOu do not have a problem with egg quality , most likely the eggs are getting affected during the cycle they are developed and this can be treated. I think the RA is an issue and most likely affecting the immune acceptance I suggest you fill out a consult request from our webisite
