Hi, Dr Braverman I am currently a patient at Sirm i just wanted to ask you a question. my doctor is very open to trying anythig since i have been through so much. I am 34 years i was pregnant through Ivf and Miscarried at 19 wks with a normal baby boy 2 years ago in which i had to have a D&C and a blood transfusion because i lost a lot of blood due to fibroid wrapped around placenta. i tried Ivf again 3 months later and was pregnant again, but i had a miscarriage at 8wks so my RE decided to test me immunology disorders, which came back positive for Natural killer cells I believe it was 19 and had to have another D&C. Since the 2 miscarriages I have done Ivf 3 times with no success. The last Ivf i just did was in July, my first beta came back is was a 7 so they said I need to test again in 2 days, I did and the numbers dropped to 3.5 this is the closest i came to being pregnant in months. my doctor seems to think its the lining because after he did the last d&c he had to remove tissue that was embedded in the lining, but i have being using viagra suppostories and my lining at transfer is usually 9 or more. I have been taken Prednisone and Intralipid for Nk, but i would like to know if their anything else that we could try. Also Dr Braverman do you think that the blood transfusion i received doing my first miscarriage could be the reason why my immune is possibly overreacting to my embryos. Thank you for any advance please

Yes the transfusion, having had delivery of male infants could both play a part, this may be a more advanced issue than just a simple NK cell issue and if your gettting to 9mm I agree it is not a lining issue. Please call my office and we can schedule a brief phone interview so I can assess your case, you really need advanced immune diagnostic testing that only we offer.
