Is immunology testing right for me at this point?

Hi,

I am a 28 year old women with Turners Syndrome. We did a donor egg cycle in Dec. 2012. We transfered 2 eggs and 1 took ( out daughter is turning two this week). I take synthoid, and over the last year, my liver enzymes were slighty elevated. I had a normal MRI and sono of my abdomon. I was finally "cleared" to try another cycle.

Last month we did a frozen cycle ( trasfered 1 )and it did not take. We have 7 more frozen embryos. Somone from my donor egg agency suggested that I look into immuology testing. Is this something that would make sense at this time? Would it make sense to try another transfer first and see what happens?

Woulf it be better to schedule a phone consult?

thanks so much

While I would never refuse to perform an immune workup on someone that failed a donor egg cycle, I think in your case it might be premature. Certainly if there were another failure I would get the workup performed.

Hi Dr. Braverman,

Above is my post from the summer. You had felt is was a bit premature to do testing.

We did another frozen egg transfer at the end of November and it worked. Unfortunetly, I misscarried at 7 weeks. There was a hematoma there, so it is possible that was the cause, but we do not know for sure.

I was wondeing if now it would make more sense to get the testing done. And,again, would it be better to schedule a phone consult with you?

Thanks so much for your time.
