Hi Dr. Braverman,

Regarding the NK Assay (%Killed) follow up panel:

50:1 was 15.9%
%CD56 was 20.4%

Would you treat these with IVIg or Intralipids?

Many thanks!

What other info would you need?

Is intralipids considered safe for the baby?

Is there a chance of the intralipids making the NK situation worse (i.e. increasing these numbers?)

Thanks!

no that is not a risk, I would need to see all of the immune cells we normall test for as well as have your complete detailed history. Feel free to call me for a consultation and I would be happy to complete this correctly for you .

Dear Dr. Braverman,

When you say, "that is not a risk" can you please clarify by answering these questions:

1) is intralipids considered safe to the baby?

2) can intralipids do more harm than good by increasing NK levelss (e.g. %CD56)?

Thank you !!!

there is no evidence that ILs increase NK cells, no harm has been shown to the fetus with IL treatment.
