Long-term prednisone while trying to conceive

I'm so glad I found this website. There are very few reproductive doctors in Australia that specialise in immunology.

I have had 3 early miscarriages and 1 blighted ovum. I recently found out I have very high level of ANA in my system (suspected lupus but nothing is showing up in the other tests).

I am hoping prednisone can help me finally help me to keep a baby, but the problem is my husband has sperm problems, so it takes us a long time to get pregnant (last miscarriage took 14 months to conceive).

My question is, can I take prednisone long-term while trying to conceive? My husband refuses to do IVF and our IUI's have failed. So this seems like the only option?

Thank you in advance.

Sarah

I dont know your complete history so my recemmendations have to take that into account. you can try and add lovenox under guidance by one of your physicians there and maybe yoru husband can try antioxidants to improve the sperm quality. There are other issues with male factor that maybe a urologist can help you with.
Long term prednisone use depends on other immune fidnings and should be carefully monitored by a physician. I dont think 10mg per day should be an issue however.

I hope this helps good luck.
