Hi there,

I am homozygous C667T MTHFR and so is my husband. I am on a Facebook page relating to MTHFR and pregnancy. There is an extremely high proportion of women who have experienced recurrent losses on this page, do you think this is a coincidence or do you think that MTHFR can contribute to miscarriage? I am doing a survey on the page to see, but it seems a lot are early losses... Just wondering your thoughts on MTHFR and recurrent loss - are they related? I take all the correct methylated supplements and just had another chemical pregnancy.

MTFHR is associtated with inflammatory processes and is a contributor in most and most likely not the initiator. i.e. many with MTFHR will have no problems but those that have concurrent immune issues it will be made worse by untreated MTFHR. The treatment is simple and as you have done take the methylated folate.
