Good Morning, Dr. Braverman,

My wife was prescribed Neupogen this cycle. Our doctor told us it was a safe medication to take. However, I've read that this is a category C pregnancy drug and there is no guarantee that negative side effects will not occur to either the patient or fetus.

I see you use this drug with some of your patiends. Have you ever experienced any negative effects (birth defects/etc.)? I don't think my doctor would prescribe an unsafe medication but REs only handle theb beginning stages of pregnancy. We are very concered with any potential harm to a baby.

Many thanks!Tom

Only an RE with expereience in immunology should prescribe and monitor the use of neupogen. If done correclty and their are no contraindications I feel it is very safe to use if monitored and given correctly.

Thank you so much! Would you say the same about prednisone? I think it's wonderful you open this forum up for questions. The infertility world can be so daunting.
