I read Plaquenil can reduce abnormal NK cell and cytokine activity. What are your thoughts on this drug?

not the first line for NK cells but seems to have benefits there and for those with autoantibody mediated syndromes. Mechanism of action still unclear..

What would you consider auto antibody syndrome? APS, for instance?

I'm six weeks pregnant and jumped in this convo because I had just read a study where in some t ypes of APA's, Lovenox and Bany Aspirin are not enough. I've had two healthy children followed by three second trimester, unexplained losses. If we can't afford IVIG and insurance (of course) will not cover it, would Plaquenil be beneficial as well for those specific antibodies? (Igg types). I was borderline positive on a few and positive for one of the Lupus anticoagulants.

First I can make no recommendations without a thorough history and evaluation of your case. I would be very suspect for anti paternal HLA antibodies here which are not necessarily 'auto" abs, and IVIG and lovenox and prednisone would be the best treatments. Again without testing I can not even be sure this is the issue. I would be happy to test you if you would like.

Can you lead me to an elaboration on anti paternal HLA antibodies?
