Positive ANA

I just had a miscarriage. Genetic tests didn't identity a cause. Back in May I had lab work done which showed a positive ANA (1:160) with speckled pattern. My PCP wasn't too concerned because I had no symptoms. I've since learned the association between this and miscarriage.

My OB wasn't too concerned either and thought this likely had no impact on the miscarriage since I have no symptoms of an autoimmune disease. She said since I had a successful pregnancy previous this is an additional good sign. I got pregnant in two months with my first, no complications. OB said I could do as prob regimen if I felt strongly about it. When I mentioned prednisone, she said they dont treat it that way anymore.

Long story short, should I be concerned? Have more testing? I'd prefer not to "wait and see" if I end up having recurrent miscarriages then deal with the potential issue.

if it's relevant, with this pregnancy I just lost we got pregnant easily, first month trying, and lost it somewhere around 6-7 weeks. We heard heartbeat at 6w6d (but only measured 6w3d), and found out missed miscarriage at 11w1d.

anyone with a positive ANA and a miscarriage should have a workup to look for underlying immune issues. Many will not have any symptoms so that alone is not a reason to avoid the proper testing.

When you say proper testing what are you suggesting? Who should I see?

I've been referred to a rheumatologist and waiting to get in, which I'm told the wait for an appointment could be months.

I don't understand if this is such a potential risk for miscarriages why it seems most doctors brush this off.
