Dr. Braverman,

Could the anxiety/jumpiness/fight-or-flight feelings often caused by Prendisone hinder or prevent implantation?

Those of us with repeated IVF failures & RPL are always being told about the importance of staying calm and stress-free in the days following transfer...but as routinely as Prednisone is prescribed, I know many of the ladies always feel on edge when taking it.

I know Pred can increase cortisol levels, and I believe I once read that increased cortisol can be linked to very early miscarriage.

Please remember what I always stress (excsuse the pun here) on this site. Medications must only be used when NEEDED . If the immune system is activated as indicated by the PROPER testing you will only benefit by anti inflammatories such as prednisone , which in those cases does work well. I do see too often however problems cuased when patients are medicated for the wrong reasons and then yes the treatmens become the problems.
