Dear Dr. Braverman,We were patients of you last year. I have had 2 early miscarriages last year. After the 2nd miscarriage my RE tested for anticardiolipin antibodies and it came back positive (ACL IgG – 26 and ACL IgM 3). It was negative for Lupus anticoagulant. Later I was tested again for the full clotting panel and everything came back normal (ACL IgG 2).We consulted you last year (about 6 months back) and I was tested for all the possible immune problems and HLA matching for both of us. All the tests came back normal. We were so much relieved because of you. We met with a new RE this year and he did a surgery for polyp removal. He recommended me to take a baby aspirin daily and I am still on it. We did an IVF with the new RE and I am now 5 weeks pregnant. My new RE ordered the full clotting panel and we are waiting for the results. He will prescribe lovenox if the test is positive. Otherwise his advice is to stay on baby aspirin. I am also in progesterone injections. My beta HCG is doubling at this point. We were so pleased with your previous consultation and are interested in joining your first trimester immune management program. Since we paid out of pocket for all our treatments currently we are in a financially difficult situation. We are looking for the options to strengthen financially to consult you again.Dr. Braverman, what is your advice for us at this point? Do you recommend us to do all the immune testing again if we consult you? Please help us. We desperately need this baby..Thank you very much!

yes you will need a small immune panel just to guide us on your management. Please call the office tomorrow and ask for Judy and she will take care of getting you into the first trimester program. sounds like all is going well so far.

Dear Dr. Braverman,

Thank you very much for the reply. My RE's office called me today and said that my cardiolipin IgG level is 6, and IgM level is 4. This is from the blood drawn on Monday. They asked me to continue with the baby aspirin and no need to go for lovenox. They said anything below 11 is normal and no need to treat.
Can these antibodies go high within 3-4 days? The nurse said they don't change a lot within a week. But I am so worried now because these levels were detected from the blood drawn 4 days back.. We got the results late today so we couldn't call your office for a consultation. We will call your office on tuesday for a consultation. Is your office open on Saturday? If so we can call you tomorrow. Is there anything that we can do during this weekend to prevent any elevations of antibodies? Is it worth checking another beta HCG level just to see they are doubling? I am stressed and emotionally tired of thinking about this.

Dr. Braverman, please give us your advice.

Thank you

Dr. Braverman
