Question before upcoming consultation

Hello Dr Braveman-

First, I want to applaud you for your accessibility to patients (& non-patients!) and the wealth of information you offer.

I have an initial consultation scheduled with you in August, but have a burning question that I would be most appreciative of getting your insight on before that date.

I am 34 and experiencing secondary infertility after the birth of my son 3 years ago. We are seeing an RE who ordered a blood panel revealing homo MTHFR (c677t), slight hypothyroidism, and most significantly (I believe) highly elevated antibodies to phosphotidyserine & cardiolipin. I have had several very, very early losses in the past 13 months (

I think your message got caught off. I do agree from the limited information Ive seen taht the anti phospholipid and anti cardiolipin antibodies are a significant issue and at a minimum require lovneox.

Hi Dr Braverman- I'm sorry, I don't know what happened to my message.

Here's the gist of it: I have two more cycles before our scheduled consultation, and would love to know if you think the odds are very low in the meantime that I will conceive (with what is known of my issues at this point...see above) on heparin, BA, & foltx alone. This is my current protocol under my RE, and I'm starting to feel that I'm wasting money on monthly IUI's, ultrasounds, drugs, shots, etc...when I could be saving this money for the "big guns" that you will most likely find fitting to prescribe. On the other hand, if my current protocal has been proven to overcome APS (serine & cardiolipin), I will keep at it until we meet. Just trying to be realistic & as fiscally conservative as possible while remaining hopeful. Your opinion of my odds on current protocol will help me decide how to proceed in the meantime.

sorry just saw this post, yes you do have a chance with the heparin protocol and if it does not work Im sure I will be able to add to it.
