Hi Dr. Braverman,
I had a blighted ovum in 2010 and then was able to get pregnant with triplets and delivered them in 2011. Recently, we started TTC #4. In April we found out we were pregnant but ended up MC at 6.3 weeks...just started bleeding. Then in June we became pregnant again. The numbers were not rising appropriately and I was told I was going to MC. I have asthma (adult onset in 2007 along with severe allergies and I believe some kind of arthritis as every joint aches and sometimes weird pains radiating down nerves..for minutes on end...I srated to take some prednisone after my initial HCG drop and the numbers started going up immediately. My doc told me to stop taking them..which I did and the numbers slowly went down over a course of 4 weeks. Now, I just tested positive on Monday and HCG at 13 DPO was only 28. 47 hours later it was only 48. My doc told me I will miscarry again (third in a row in the past 6 months and 4th total). I asked for prednisone and they said no and what will be will be. I am not ok with doing nothing over and over. I have prednisone and think I will start 20mg to see what happens to the numbers. I cannot seem to find a dr to help me (I live in rural Montana). Any help?

I dont think you can call it quits with that rise in numbers. Without any history on you I could not possibly tell you what to do. With that said the "most" likely issues would get a jump start with prednisone and clexane, but then you would need to do immune testing right away so the correct adjustments could me made.

I would be happy to manage this for you , you would need to fill out a consult form on my website asap and we will be in touch.

Great! Thank you! I did fill out the consultation form as well as the new patient questionaire. I look forward to hearing from you and hope you can help me before I lose this baby too! Thanks again.

Hi Dr. Braverman,
So it turns out that I will also miscarry this one. My HCG doubling time has slowed and it now dropping. I am told when I stop progesterone I will miscarry. This is my third very early loss and I do not know what to do next. I just changed OBs to a more supportive one but she says no tests can be run until all levels return to non-pregnant state. I did try prednisone (did not really have a choice as asthma flared out of control in the past two weeks). I also have PCOS and have been diagnosed since 2007. I did fill out forms on here and tried to call, but was told that I needed to send payments first. I am not able to travel to NYC as I am in rural Montana, but was wondering if you ever do consultations with other doctors so maybe my doctor can help me find out what is going on.
