Hi Dr.Braverman,
My name is Kimberly. I'm 38yrs old trying to have my first baby.I need help! I married for the first time in 11/07. Started TTC in 05/08.Got preg on my own in 10/08.Found out @ 10weeks through ultrasound that the baby never progresssed beyond 5weeks.Had D&C in 12/08.Since first mc they did not test.Since then i had to waste all of 2009 finding out i had a benign left adrenal adenoma. Was diagnosed with Cushings Syndrome.I had surgery to remove Left gland and tumor 10/09.Now i'm cured of Cushings and my Endo says my Cortisol levels are normal. We started TTC again in 12/09.Was diagnosed with Hashimotos in 03/10.TPO 480 TSH 3.8.I'm now on Synthroid 0.05mg.My TSH as of 2wks ago was 1.2. I started to see DR.Mitchell-Leef @RBA here in Atlanta. We did 3 rounds of Clomid and IUI.Nothing.2 rounds of IVF.The first IVF we had 2 good looking Blasts to put back day 5.Nothing.This last IVF we put back 2 on day 2 and got pregnant! My Dr was treating me with Heparin 2 times a day and 5mg prednisone and of course endometrin.Blood test was 77. 2days later it was 157.I had already started to bleed some. Then by 3 days later i had lost the baby 12.5. I have tested neg for Celiac, neg for thrombofelia. Each time i get preg i usually get a low grade fever of around 99.1 or so and usually some sinus conjestion.I just had my PC Dr test me for Vit D def.My results were 33.On a normal scale of 30-100.She said i should take 2,000 iu of vit D a day.I have a follow up with Dr.Mitchell next week to discuss my loss. She seems to think it's all genetic related.I really don't think thats the case with me.My lining has always been around 10 or 11 and i don't have Endometrosis.Could my case be immune related? My Dad has Myosthenia Gravis. His brother also has hypothyroidism. Before i try another round of IVF i want to have further Immune testing done.I hope that my Dr will work with you. If not have you worked with any other reproductive Docs in the Atlanta area? Please Dr.Braverman can you help? I would love to at least have one child of my own!!!Thanks so much Kimberly

Yes you certainly have risk factors for immune involvement. I can work with your RE as I do that for many patients around the world. We need to get a full immune panel on you. Please call my office and ask for Kim she will schedule a consult with me and I can go over your case in detail. I also doubt its genetic, we should be abke to fix this.

Thank you for answering so quickly.I hope we are both right. I would be heart broken to find out it's genetics not immune. I will call your office tomorrow or Monday to set up an apt.Would the testing be done here in Ga or sent to your lab in NY?

Dr.Braverman,
we spoke on this forum some time ago.My husband and i decided to take a few months off from the stress of trying and also to save up more money for IVF.Now i seem to have a problem finding a RE here in Atlanta that will work with you and immune related pregnancy loss. Not all doctors believe in such a thing, unfortunatly i have found. Please Dr.Braverman have you worked with any RE's here in the greater Atlanta,Ga area? If so please could you give me a recomondation if not on the forum maybe over the phone? Really need your help. Thanks Kimberly

Thank you so much for responding. I was actually thinking of getting a second opinion. GRS was the other fertility clinic I was thinking of trying. You just confirmed it. Will call them on Monday to set up an apt. Will be speaking with you soon.
Thanks again, Kimberly
