Dr. Braverman,
I was wondering if you had any thoughts re, Secondary Infertility: 4 gavida 1 para. I will be 30 this Sept.
HX:
My 11 year old daughter was born with gastroschisis and was preterm (32 wks). She went into fetal distress and was delivered as an emergency c-cestion by Dr. Mahone and Dr. Drake; They delivered the McCaughey Septuplets in '97. Anyway, I have since been pregnant three other times, obviously all ending in miscarriage.
The second pregnancy was with my ex-husband in which, the pregnancy lasted about 10-11 weeks, ending due to failure to detect fetal heartbeat. I had D & C.
Four years later, my husband and I got pregnant last Oct but ended up having to get a D & C due to an anembryotic pregnancy/blightened ovum at 12 weeks. We have since gotten pregnant this June, but found out today that I am miscarrying. Yesterday would have been 5 weeks (gestational).
From your experience, do you have any theories causes? Suggested testing? Treatment?....ANY feedback would be much appreciated as I feel defective, defeated, and devastated....again.

Not an uncommon presentation to my practice. I would really need to learn your entire history to give you an educated opinion about testing and management, but certainly at a minimum you would need a thrombophilia and immune workup. I woudl be happy to guide you if you would like. Feel free to call my office and ask for Stacy, she will review the consultation procedure with you.
