After reading the New York Times article After I.V.F: Pregnant, but Still Stuck in the Past written by Amy Klein (former Dr. Braverman patient), I felt compelled to write in to describe my own feelings and journey. First, and foremost, there are many discussions about the process of getting pregnant when you are infertility patient. and much discussion about the aftermath of pregnancy but, no one really speaks about the time when you are pregnant. Having been through three miscarriages myself, you are delighted each time that you have a positive pregnancy test, but, the days and weeks that follow that positive test are often filled with tireless worry. Luckily, this time, my pregnancy stuck as they say in the infertility world. I am thankfully five months pregnant and counting all due to an amazing doctor, Jeffery Braverman. Now, what?! I am too scared to tell people that I am pregnant, even though, my growing stomach is a mere resemblance of my little girl growing inside me. I am too scared to acknowledge that this process actually did work… I am too scared to realize that in a short time, I will actually be a mom, four months … a progression that has taken over four years.

Dr. Braverman and staff are wonderful! They are available to your every need during this grueling process. It is because of Dr. Braverman that I have come this far in my infertility process. Dr. Braverman has often told me to focus on what lies ahead. It is a coincidence that the word "brave" is the first few letters of Dr. Bravermans' name. Ironically, to endure or face unpleasant conditions without showing fear is the definition of the word brave. Facing your fears as an infertility patient and being courageous on a daily basis is one of the features that often is embedded in you. You must put on a suit of armor, and move forward full steam ahead focusing on the future and never looking back. Never looking back to the thousands of shots taken… Never looking back to the battered and bruised body… Never looking back to the hundreds of pills, suppositories, creams, etc…. Never, looking back to the infusions, collapsed veins, and scar tissues…. I focus on the future…. The future of becoming a mom all because of Dr. Braverman. Thank you!
