I just got results for recent TSH bloodwork - it was 3.36. In 2011 it was 3.34 and in 2009 it was 1.99. I've never been told I have a thyroid problem but have researched normal levels and although most labs say under 5 is normal, the AACE recommends treatment for people who do not fall between 0.3 and 3.0. I've also heard that in order to achieve pregnancy it's good to have a level lower than 1.

Should I see an endocrinologist for my TSH being at 3.36? I'm pretty sure my re is going to say my level is normal bc she saw no issue with it being 3.34 two years ago...

Yes I like the TSH between 1 and 2 with a little room on both sides. I would repeat the last TSH before treating if it remains over 3 I usually treat. . I dont know our case so this decision should be done with your doctor.

The recent TSH bloodwork which showed my level was 3.36 was taken this past Monday 2/11/13. Would you still recommend I get retested again before starting meds?
