Dr. Braverman,

My wife and I have been trying to have children for over 6 years now. We have undergone 9 IUI procedures and we were just notified today that our 2nd round of IVF was unsuccessful. We have been going to a very reputable IVF practice in Miami. To our knowledge, all the tests available have been run on both of us with no abnormalities found in either of us. We are at the give up point. Is there an ancient Chinese secret available?

We appreciate in advance your response and Happy Holidays!

Hi Bryan, its hard to comment on your case as I dont know what is meant by a "complete" workup, as that is different at every center. I am sure that there are still many tests that we could do , as it is very unusual for any of my patients to have a diagnosis of "unexplained" infertlity. Most of the issues I find we can treat. If I havent tested you , I can promise you havent had all the tests available.

I dont think you need to look for ancient chinese secrets when there is a modern New York answer, it just means you have to look on the cutting edge of technology in these cases and thats what Ive done for most of my patients.

If you would like me to help , just call the office and we can do a phone consult. I can arrange for any testing you may need, if you could get all your testing ahead of time to me that would help as well. But please dont give up yet I promise there is probably so much you can still do, your case is mostly what I see and by the time patients get to me they are ready to give up, read the patient histories on the discussion board and you'll see why you should keep going.
