Unexplained infertility and idiopathic hypersomnia

Hi Dr Braverman,I'm located in Australia and I discovered your website through a blogger I read often. My husband and I are 28 years old, are in generally great health and have just passed 2 years of unexplained infertility. My cycle was slightly irregular (26-34 days) so we have done 3 rounds of clomid with no resulting pregnancy. There are no other reasons for our infertility in our testing. I have suspected endo based on symptoms however I had a laproscopy (when having appendix removed) 5 years ago and the surgical report stated there were no signs of endo at that time so my RE doesn't think a further lap is necessary. I haven't had any immunology testing done. I have gluten sensitivity (chronic digestive complaints discovered through elimination diet) and have been diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia for chronic tiredness (never waking rested).I have a gluten free diet but have no treatment for the hypersomnia as the only option was dexamphetamine and that doesn't work well with trying to conceive. Also, the week before my menstrual cycle I get consistent nausea - leading me to believe I am pregnant, though my cycle arrives on time (about 12 days after ovulation). This is not every month, though more often in the last 6-10 months. Could I possibly be having early miscarriages?I'm starting to wonder if there is a immune issue that is causing my infertility and fatigue. Our next step with our RE would be IUI then IVF. Any thoughts on our situation would be amazing. Thanks so much!

We are certainly aware now of the strong relationship between the central nervous system and the immune system, such that systemic symptoms such as yours if not casued by immune issues may result in immune irregularities that may contribute to your peoblem It is also possible that this is completley unrelated and their are other issues. You should schedule a telephone or SKYPE consulation with me and I would be happy to review your history and I can order whatever tests I may need from Australia.
