When to start testing

Hello. My daughter is currently 26 years old. She became pregnant in August 2010 and at her first appointment when they could detect no fetal heartbeat, an ultrasound showed no baby and she had a D&C the next day. When she became pregnant again the summer of 2011, she had an earlier ultrasound done at 8 weeks which showed the same result. At her 4 week checkup following her second D&C she was told that she had a partial molar pregnancy. Her HCG level drawn that day was already at 0 and remained that way for the 9 months she had them checked. Her physician gave her the ok in April to stop birth control pills and again start trying but no luck so far. She is not sure if they should continue to try for a pregnancy for another few months or if she should ask for any kind of testing right now. She has had a period every month since coming off the pill with a cycle of 27 to 31 days. What is your opinion? Thanks so much.

Once there is a loss of a fetal heart beat in any pregnancy , I recommend a workup if it was not proven that the loss was genetic. In your daughters case a full profile for recurrent pregnancy loss is warranted including a full immunology profile. I would be happy to assist you with this.
