Hi, Dr. Braverman.
I'm a 43 year old woman who has had 4 cycles of IVF, 1 resulted in a negative pregnancy test, and 3 resulted in chemical pregnancies. Each time I've produced at least 6 eggs that fertilized on their own. My doctor told me it's my age, but I wanted to rule out other treatable conditions. I've had a clotting factor work up and a work up for immune factors, including TH1:TH2 cytokine ratios, Factor II analysis,Factor V leiden, ovary ab IGg, prolactin, homocysteine, IgG/M/A levels, antithyroglobin ab, thyroid peroxidase, NK assay, T reg cell. The only thing that came out low was leukocyte antibody detection. T cell 5 (nl: 50-100) B cell 46.6 (nl: 50-100). I had one treatment of LIT and am now undergoing another IVF cycle (retrieval and transfer this week). I'm wondering if there's anything else I should try/add that might increase my chance for success?...I know it may be too late for this cylce, but I've heard great things about your clinic and only found the website today. Thank you for your time! -cj

Hi CJ, Im sorry for your difficulties. Its hard to give you a full explanation without seeing all your results. But based on what youve told me there are studies missing that I would need to draw a conclusion. As you read on the website the blocking ab studies are not reliable as only about 20% of normal pregnancies produce normal levels on testing. Your B cell component in my judgement was normal as I use over 30% as normal.
where did you go for LIT? what were the levels prior and after LIT? Did you do any other treatmetns IVIG, itnralipids etc?

where and when were T reg cell studies done? were any of your studies done while pregnant, as you know that gives you a completely different set of data.

I agree that when you are over 40 age is always the leading diagnosis for failures, but If everyone left it at that we would not have had the success we did with women over 40 where last year we had the highest delviery rate per embryo transferred in NYS for women over 40 and we only get the complicated cases.

Feel free to call for a consult and I would be happy to get the remainder of tests you need and guide your management for even this cycle.
