Dr. Braverman,

The clinic I use froze embryos at Day 3. The day of my FET, technically is day 4. They thawed embies night before and next day transfer. The day of transfer embies were at 10 and 12 cell (frozen at 8 and 10 cell day 3).
Embryos were graded 2 and 2/3.

Question: shouldn't the embryos have been a morola by the time of my transfer for a better chance? Does the cell development of these embryos seem doomed? All had assisted hatching, 24 yr. old egss. Thanks for your input.

Yes they should be at morula stage by day 4. Sometimes the frozen embryos progress a little more slowly , so just the fact they made progress is a good sign. Im not a fan of freezing on Day 3 as embryos freeze and thaw better as blasts on Day 5. With that said your embryos did progress and so you have a chance to get pregnant. Every center has their own grading system , but Ill assume grade 1 is best and yours were 2 and 2/3 so thats just ok. Again in those situations its best to let them go to blast before or after the freeze so you know what you are dealing with , preferably before the freeze so you know you really need to freeze. Hope that helps. .
