Endometriosis and stimulation drugs

Hi Doctor Braverman,

I have endometriosis and I'm wondering if the stimulation drugs used during an IVF cycle could worsen it (I already have great pain during my period) and even have a negative impact on the implantation. And if so, is there better way for me to get pregnant like mini-IVF or natural IVF because less meds are used.

Thank you,

Manon

There are many quesitons within that question. Yes rasising estrogen levels could worsen the pain of the endometriosis, but it is unlikely in that short of a span that you would make the endometriosis expand with more lesions and get worse. Its not the change to a "natural" IVF that is the success formula with endo , but treating all the issues involved, i.e. egg quality , and immune rejection of the embryos both of which are not tied to the type of stimulation used.
Feel free to call me for a consultation and I would be happy to review your case and recommend the right workup and treatment for you.
