Dear Dr

I am currently pregnant and have hashimotos. My antibodies have been negative for the last few tests and I have been told that I can stop ivig and have intralipids. I have read that soy can exacerbate hashimotos and want to be sure that intralipds are safe...do you have any ideas please? Are you aware of hashimotos patients having success with intralipids?

Thank you
Thank you

I would need much more information to be able to recommend any therapy for you. It is a very strong possiblity if you have Hashimotos that there is always underlying endometriosis as well. Since this has other underlying immune issues they need to be worked up to be sure you know what you are treating. Where are you recieving your treatment? what other tests have been done and what is your hsitory of losses?

Thank you for replying.

i am at a clinic in london,uk. I had every test possible done after 2 miscarriages (one at ten weeks and one at 6). No live children. I had the full Chicago tests done and also my uterus examined by aqua scan. I always had regular periods and have no sign that I may have endometriosis. I am now 24 weeks pregnant. I was initially on steroids, hunira, neupogen and clexane (in addition to thyroxine) and have had 5 ivig infusions. I am now only taking thyroxine and clexane and my doctor has said that I will need only two more infusions (one at 25 weeks one at 29) and that intralipids will do.

i have only tested positive for tpo once, immediately afer my second loss. Every other test has been negative. I'm not sure if that is due to going on thyroxine, going gluten free or just coincidence. I have read that soy can make anti thyroid antibodies worse and am nervous to use intralipids if they are going to flare up....
Thank you

Ok the "Chicago" panel is highly inadequate to make a correct diagnosis of your problem. I have no way of knowing if you needed all that you were on. I cant make any conclusions as to your best therapy without a complete profile. Which clinic in UK were you using? Can they send blood testing to us for analysis?
