how many embryo to transfer with HLA matches?

Hello Dr. Braverman! I've been reading your blog and forum and I'm happy that your patients with many HLA matches are getting pregnant. Most of them were prescribed neupogen but I am just curios if you only advise them to transfer one because I haven't read someone with many HLA matches being pregnant with twins after trying IVF with neupogen and other immune treatments. Thank you.

The number of embryos transferred is irrelevant with HLA issues. One or Two is fine.

Thank you Dr. Braverman. I had failedIUIs when I was 26 and failed IVFs when I was 27. My only diagnosis is mild PCOS before all that. After treatments failed, tests were done and I have high NK cells and partial DQa matching with husband and said I can only transfer one embryo and needs PGD testing for a better chance in success. I just turned 28, do you think I need PGD testing? I don't have a plan on returning to my current RE. Right now, I just want a break for a few months on treatments but I am considering more immune tests and new treatments when I'm ready. Thank you.

First of all DQalpha matching is not a valid diagnosis (see my blog on HLA issues on my website) with that said any recommendations that come from DQalpha matching as the issue are not valid and should be ignored. I suspect you need a more complete workup prior to making any decisions on treatment.

Yes because I've done intralipids with prednisone on my last IVF and still failed. I am just confused if I really need PGD testing with my age. AMH and husband's sperm are good. For my fresh IVF, I had 13 eggs collected, all matured and 11 fertilized, transferred 1 and froze 3. Thanks again.
