Hi Dr. Braverman,

I am currently 12 weeks pregnant! My blood work was tested for immune related issue because I've had prior losses. I'm being treated for thrombophlias- mthfr 677ct homozygous, PAI 1, factor 13, with lovenox, baby aspirin and folate.

NK cells are normal, cytokines are normal,

T regs are very low at 0.1 and they should be 0.7 or greater. In my non pregnant state my T regs were 2.0. I was recommended to have a round of

IVIG-25gm to up my T reg number. Because low T regs are associated with loss and pre term delivery do you agree with being treated with IVIG infusion?

First of all I dont think you have had enough testing to actually give you a diagnosis. Second it is actually just the opposite. High T regs in pregnancy are a bad sign of failed recruitment of Tregs to the uterine lining . Low T regs are a good sign. Our data is very clear on this. In fact we have found a strong correlation with falure of T reg levels to go down and miscaririage. Save your money, based on that one fact you do not need IVIG. Of course you must follow the advice of your doctors as they may know more about you than I do.
