Metformin and MTHFR

I was diagnosed with PCOS but my insulin levels are normal. My doctor did not think I needed metformin but recently (after 1 blighted ovum and 2 chemical pregnancies) wants to put me on it. My only concern is that I tested positive for the MTHFR homogenous C677 mutation. I've been on b vitamins to keep my homocysteine level normal and extra folate (also Lovenox). I read metformin hinders our body's absorption of folate and vitamin b and can raise homocysteine levels. I'm wondering if metformin isn't a good idea for me. Do you have patients taking it with a MTHFR mutation?
