MY SUCCESS STORY

I would like to share my success story with all of you out there who are feeling alone and desperate to find answers. After 7yrs of trying to conceive, 18 failed IVF’s and 4 biochemical pregnancies today I’m a mommy to our miracle baby Annabel. Annabel was born on 22 April 2011.

The only reason I was able to successfully fall pregnant and deliver a healthy baby is because of one very special person, Dr. Braverman. He is the brightest, kindest and most passionate doctor you could ever wish to have contact with. He really does think out of the box when all else fails, as it did with me. More than thinking out of the box he has an extraordinarily vast expanse of knowledge.

The field of reproductive immunology is so new in South Africa that virtually none of the reproductive specialists know anything about it, much less practice it. Fortunately my doctors were willing to follow Dr. Braverman’s advice and treatment protocol. All of our consultations were done telephonically with Our Medical Team and any questions we had Dr. Braverman answered by email almost instantly.

My husband and I had consulted telephonically with another very popular clinic in the USA that specialises in reproductive immunology. We also read their book from cover to cover and did all the blood work they recommended. They gave us a diagnosis and treatment protocol to follow which relied heavily on the use of IVIg but we did not even get a biochemical pregnancy. After 4 failed IVF’s they told us that they could offer us no other options or alter our treatment protocol in useful way and that we should look at other options such as surrogacy. It was the worst moment of my life. You will understand that no one goes through 18 IVF’s unless carrying and giving birth to their own child is top priority and literally the most important thing in their life.

Shortly after this, seemingly final, door closed a friend told me about Dr. Braverman. I gave him a call and to my absolute amazement he spoke with me right away. Even better, after I briefly explained our history to him he said he thought he could still offer us hope. We followed our new treatment protocol and found I actually didn’t have any response to IVIg therapy. Another dead end it seemed, but just as I thought we had reached the end of the road yet again Dr. Braverman offered another option, Neupogen (G-csf). We tried it and as I sit here today I’m a mommy to a healthy beautiful little girl.

This is a moment I thought I would never get to experience. Hearing our babys first heart beat was amazing then to give birth to her and hear her very first cry WOW I have no words to describe that! We got to experience all of this because of Dr. Braverman.

It makes no difference which country you live in Dr. Braverman is a phone call away. I feel so privileged to have found Dr. Braverman ?

Good day Hayley

I am also from South africa and suffers from an autoimmune disease and had 4 failed ivf's . I couldn't find any reproductive immunologists in South Africa . How did the telephonic consultations with dr Braverman worked and what was the cost involved.Where did you have to go for blood test - did your medical aid cover that ? how long was your treatment before you got pregnant?
