Not sure where to start

I'm 29 years old and have been ttc for the past six months. I have never been pregnant before. I had started my periods at the "normal" 28 days then 35 and then I started to skip. I would skip months at a time. Since August, I have had 5 regular cycles all averaging 37-39 days. My last period was December 30th. I should have ovulated near the end of January. On January 29th I noticed a spot of blood when I went to the bathroom (it was dark) only one time and then never again. I took a hpt Feb 10 and it was positive, I've since had positive and negative tests.

I went to my gyn and was told the pregnancy test was negative. I was told I was not pregnant based on that and they were doing blood work. I was told I have PCOS, now I'm not sure what to do from here. I still have not gotten my period, and roughly 11 days late. I was told my hormone levels were normal and my hcg was 2. I am currently scheduled to go for a pelvic/bladder sonogram.

I don't know my family history as I am adopted. Is there anything that you can do for me or should I be sticking with my gyn?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

The workup for PCOS is detailed and quite complex. This type of workup is out side of the scope of a regular GYN. Issues such as immunologic and throbophilic components of PCOS need to be addressed. I have a long history of treating all aspects of PCOS and would be happy to help you. Please call Kim at my office and ask her to arrange a telephone consultation for us.
