Egg donor cycle failure with immune treatment

Hello

I have been diagnosed with 'high' NKC (20 cells per high powered field) and my husband and I share a DQ Alpha partial match of 1.02 and 1.03 gene. I have a history of implantation failure (20+ embryos) and have had an ectopic pregnancy. I have however carried one child to term. Given egg quality concerns I recently completed a donor egg cycle. I transferred one AB hatching blast. My protocol included IVIG and intralipids treatment (7 and 8 days before the FET), 2 cycles of LIT (2 and 3 months before the FET), baby asprin, prednisolone 6 days before the transfer and clexane after the transfer. Yet it still failed. My doctor advised 'there is nothing additional' he can do from an immune perspective and suggested a surrogate may be my only alternative.

My question for you is given the immune treatments I received for this cycle - is there anything additional you think you could do to acheive a successful pregnancy?

If so do I need to complete the full testing offered by your centre or can you advise me based upon my existing tests already performed (in Australia)?

Thank you.

First of all , in my opinion you have had quite a bit of treatment with minimal testing and no diagnosis. I do not rely at all on uterine NK cells and there is no validity to DQalpha mathcing so there is no wonder they do not know what to do next. I am sure I can help you at least understand what the diagnosis is and then prescribe correct treatement. I do not beleive LIT offers any benefits.

Thanks for your response and happy new year to you!

I'm already booked in for a phone call with you on 12 January and I'm in the process of registering as an immune patient as I agree full testing will be required to get some answers!

I do have one further question - is there any natural supplements you would recommend I start taking now (fish oil, D3)? I feel like I need to do 'something'...

Hello

Thanks for this response.

I've seen you also recommend resveratrol and pycogenol and sometimes vitamin E for patients. Would you recommend I also start taking these supplements, or is it better to await the outcome of the full immune assessment?

I see no harm in starting these supplements before your testing is back , we can always modify if we need to.
