Hi Dr. Braverman,

I'm 37 years old, and have 3 children, ages 5,4,and 2. My first pregnancy in 2002, I miscarried at 8 weeks..no heartbeat. It then took us almost 2 years and 3 rounds of clomid(150mg) to get pregnant with my little girl. My RE at the time did tell me I had low progesterone, and I was put on progesterone the first 12 weeks of that pregnancy. I got pregnant with my 2nd child after 3 rounds of clomid (100mg)--I was also given progesterone, but no blood work was done by my OB. My 3rd child was a very happy surprise, didn't know I was pregnant until about 11 weeks. I just thought I was dying because I was so sick:)
In Dec of 2009, I had a chemical pregnancy, in March 2010 I had an ectopic pregnancy that almost killed me.My Dr. made me go on birth control pills for 3 months after my ectopic. We have been trying since then, but since my last loss my cycles are very different, and my fertility signs are just about extinct.

I have Hashimoto's and taking 124 mcg of synthroid. I eat well, exercise and am in very good health. I am very discouraged, frustrated, and sad to think that we may not be able to have anymore children. I also believe this infertility may be an symptom of some imbalance in my body or another health issue that I am not aware of. I am hoping you may help me find some answers.

Thank you so much for your time.
Julie

patients with ectopics that grow to the point where they rupture, but fail to proceed far with an intrauterine pregnancy very commonly have immune issues as there is a lesser attack on the embryo in the fallopian tube due to lower number of the "attcking" cells there. Your Hashimotos is also evidence of an immune issue. We can treat this. Please call my office and ask for Kim, she will assist you in scheduling a consult with me.
