Explanation for Abnormal Cytokine (TNF) Ratios

Posted By Braverman IVF & Reproductive Immunology || 9-Aug-2012

We are now able to test our patients for "defects" or mutations in the genes responsible for the normal production of very important cytokines that are essential in immune regulation of an implanting embryo. TNF, IL10,G-CSF,IL4 genes can now be screened to see if a mutation in these genes is playing a part in improper modulation of the immune tolerance that the embryo must successfully complete for implantation. This has been added to our immune profile here at Braverman IVF & Reproductive Immunology, and when found will assist us in creating the proper treatment plan for those that are suffering from immune related recurrent pregnancy loss, and help us to understand some of the causes of abnormal cytokine ratios.
